Crime Stoppers Dominica recognized Winners


Crime Stoppers Dominica (CSD) recognized students who won the first ever CSD Schools’ Contest in the Essay, Short Stories and Poetry categories at a special awards ceremony on Monday June 29th, at the Fort Young Hotel.

J. Astaphan & Company Ltd and LIME provided prizes, consisting of iPads and Tablets, to all the winners of the CSD young writers’ contest.

CSD invited primary and secondary school students to compose and submit Poetry, Art, Essays, Short Stories and Jingles that promote the contest theme “Choose a Medium & Speak Up”, through two competition phases. The first phase concluded with the presentation on Monday and the Art & Jingle contest will continue into the next school term. In the writers’ competition twenty-two entries were received by students from seven schools across the island. At the ceremony CSD recognized the top five winners who proudly read their essay and poems to the audience. These entries can be viewed on the CSD website at crimestoppersdominica.org.
